How It Works

Librarians & Library Staff

Host a maker program for any age range at your library with minimal prep time, and without having to build or create a dedicated space in your library. The MKE Mixers team will train all MCFLS library staff who are responsible for programming through committee meetings and established training sessions.

Interested in joining the MKE Mixers Committee? Send an email to [email protected]. Include your name, contact info, and the name of the library you work for. A member of the Mixers Team will get back to you shortly!

REQUEST

Request the Box(es) you want for a set date to host a program at your library.

Have an idea, but not sure which Mix you want? Need something from a Box but not the whole darn Mix? Submit a request and we will work with you whatever your needs.

PLAN

Once you have a Mix Box confirmed, you can execute a great maker program! 

You'll receive your box via MCFLS delivery. Each Box is a pop-up program, requiring only that you provide consumables, promote as you usually would, and set things up on the day of your event.  

REPORT BACK

Tell the team how it worked! 

​We want to hear how every phase of the Mix Box program worked for you, from requesting it, through packing it up to send it back. Additional evaluations, including participant surveys, can be found in our MKE Mixers Library.

ATTEND

Head to your library for a maker experience. Programs will range from crafting, to cooking, to coding, encompassing a range of maker activities. There will be programs for every age range.

REPORT BACK

Complete a program participation survey at your local library to make sure your opinions are getting back to the MKE Mixers team. We will continue to  expand the offerings based on your suggestions.
